1) Where and when can I register for classes?
Registrations take place in the skate school office. You may not register at the Great Neck House. You can register for classes at the beginning of the semester; registration forms are available online or in the skate school office.

2) Why can’t I skate the same day I have registered for the class?
You cannot skate the same day you have registered for the class because the skate school needs time to process the registration and update our attendance sheets.

3) What is the make-up policy?
Two make-ups are permitted per semester. If you would like a make up you may attend a class OF THE SAME LEVEL on a different day and time. Make-ups are only available if there is an opening in the class. You must reserve a make-up class in advance!

4) How can I pay for the class?
You may pay for the classes by check or cash in the ice rink or you may pay with credit card at Great Neck House.

5) What is the refund policy?
Refunds are only available to Tot 1 and Non-Skater students ONLY and it must be requested by the start of the third class meeting. You must come to the skate school office to request a refund. The refund takes approximately 2-3 weeks to be processed. If you would like your refund by check, there is a $20 processing fee or you may receive a house-hold credit which may be applied to any other activity within the Great Neck Park district.

6) How can I schedule a private lesson?
Private lessons are scheduled in the skate school office. The skate school will assign you an instructor based on the day and time you are interested in. Once we have found an instructor, we will notify them with your name and number and scheduled time of lesson, they will call you to confirm.

7) How should I prepare my child for the class?
You should dress your child warm (Ski pants, gloves, etc.) Children under 6 should also wear a helmet.

8) How long are the lessons? How many weeks are in a semester?
Each lesson is a half hour long. The semester is 8 weeks long.

9) Do you have adult classes?
Yes! We do have adult classes. We encourage adults of all levels to take lessons especially if their child is taking lessons as well. Refer to our group class schedule for days and times.

10) Are all skaters welcome to perform in the Annual Ice Show?
Yes! Any skater registered in the third semester of group classes or enrolled in any skate school program is welcome to perform in the end of the year show. There is no charge to participate and the show is televised
