Pool Renovation Letter - June 21, 2007 Dear Resident: After extensive meetings with both our architects and construction management firm, we have been assured that we can keep Parkwood Pool open this season until Sunday, August 26, without impacting our construction schedule. Mobilization and construction will begin immediately after the closing date. We expect our first phase (which will include the completion of the main pool, the intermediate pool, the kiddy pool, the interior and exterior of the bathhouses, the rink lounge renovations and the elevator) to begin on August 27 and to be finished and ready for opening next summer on July first. The second phase of the project will include both our rink additions and renovation (Phase 2A) and the lazy river and water playground (Phase 2B). Phase 2A (rink additions and renovation) will begin on March 4, 2008, and is expected to be completed by November 7, 2008. Phase 2B (lazy river and water playground) is scheduled to begin in mid-July of 2008, with completion expected well in advance of the opening of the pool season the following summer. Although it is our goal to minimize the impact on our users, please understand that a very tight construction schedule, in part because of the unpredictable northeastern winter weather conditions, may require the use of temporary facilities or what is called “swing space.” Please note that we will give you as much notice as possible when temporary facilities will be required. We also ask you to please pardon our noise and dust during construction. Our construction management team is diligently working to minimize inconveniences as we work hard to maintain the reopening schedules. Thank you.
