Great Neck House is the focus of the District's cultural activity offering movies, live performances, classes and art exhibits. A current park card is required to register and attend these events. Tennis stickers, guest coupons, daily and monthly commuter parking tickets and parking permits are also available at Great Neck House. Tennis permits are required from June 1 through September 30 at all Park District tennis courts.
Live recitals are scheduled over the fall, winter and spring months on Sundays at 3 p.m. Weekend films are also shown at 8 p.m. on Fridays, 5 and 8 p.m. on Saturdays, and 7:30 p.m. on Sundays. All films are current releases. Film synopses, ratings and critical reviews can be found in the Park District brochure, in local newspapers, on Cablevision Channel 74 and our web site: www.greatneckparks.com or .org. Local artists, sculptors and photographers exhibit work from time to time as well.
Classes are offered year round for both children and adults. Great Neck non-Park-District residents may register with an additional fee if space is available. (Proof of Great Neck residency is required.) Family Heart Saver (CPR) and 55 Alive/Mature Driving are special courses offered throughout the semester.
Card and game tables are available, as are meeting rooms for local organizations that have applied to use them. On Sunday, September 13th 2009 from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., New Residents' Day introduces newcomers to all Park District amenities.
