Skate School

About the school
The skating school offers programs that are designed to develop skaters naturally and encourage future athletes.  Within the school, many programs are available for the different needs of our skaters.  A highly qualified staff of professional skaters will teach a curriculum developed by the Ice Skating Institute of America.

Beginner Program Classes
$135 in – District / $160 Out of District
½ hour classes
Small Groups of 5 students
Multi-Sensory Pre-school environment
FUN – DAMENTALS OF ICE SKATING!
ISI Class levels:
Baby Steps (Age 3), Tiny Tots 1 – 4 (Age 4+)
Non-Skater (Age 6+), Pre-Alpha, Alpha

Intermediate Program Classes
$135 in – District / $160 Out of District
45 minute classes
Student Progress Tracking Chart
Courses cover: Backward Crossovers, Turning and Edges
ISI Class Levels: Beta, Gamma, Delta

Freestyle Classes
$135 in-District / $160 Out of District
45 minutes * 9 Weeks
Master Professionals
Courses cover:  Basic Single Jumps, Double Salchow / Toeloop, Spins, ISI Footwork
ISI Class Levels:  Freestyle 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Great Neck Skating Academy

Great Neck Synchronized Skating Team
The 2007 Synchronized skating teams begin training in October
The teams are open to any skater currently at the ISI Delta level.

Introduction to Ice Dancing * Power Skating * Synchronized Skating * Musical Interpretation
Boys Figure Skating

Figure Skating Camps
Open to Gamma level and above
3 hours of top-quality group instruction with Master professionals
2 hours of practice (you may arrange private lessons during this time)
Extra curricular activities: tennis, arts and crafts
February 18-22        8:45am-4:30pm

Synchronized Skating Team
Open to delta level skaters and above
Stop skating by yourself and skate with others
Tuesdays 4:30-6:00 pm
Begins September 25th

Private lessons
Private lessons may be arranged with a professional and can be taught during any of our many public or freestyle sessions.
Fees range from $35- $50 depending on the qualifications of the coach.
A list of coaches is available in the skate school office.
