Adult Winter Classes - 2014

Adult Winter Classes
General Information: Classes begin February 10th. Course registration is on a first come, first served basis during regular registration department hours. A detailed list of class dates will be provided at registration. If you do not see a class that meets your requirements, please see our facility director about trying to coordinate another class. Monday classes run 15 weeks, all other classes run 16 weeks unless otherwise noted.

Adult Clay
Designed with the beginner in mind, this course introduces hand-building techniques. Basic construction skills will be taught as students learn to make functional pieces of art. Students work closely with the instructors to learn simple glazing techniques and surface design methods. Have fun creating your very own unique handmade treasures.

Exercise to Music
Designed to incorporate all the major all the major and minor muscle groups if the entire body. The exercises are to improve your waist, upper/lower abdominals, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, chest and upper and lower back. You will develop flexibility, strengthen, shape and tone through a variety of upbeat exercises. Cardiovascular benefit is derived from the continuous pattern of exercise, although no aerobics are done.

Tone and Stretch
Do you want to stay young and mobile? Come to basic exercises designed to increase your agility, mobility, stability, balance, flexibility and coordination. Layout of class: 10 to 15 minute low impact aerobic warm up, 12 to 20 minutes body conditioning with resistance tubing than Pilates like exercise for your abdominals and yoga stretches.

Yoga/ Pilates
Adding yoga and Pilates to your workout routine can increase your strength and flexibility.

Tai Chi
Tai chi is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. Tai chi is low impact and puts minimal stress on muscles and joints, making it generally safe for all ages and fitness levels Wednesday 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. $128/Sr. $83 Joseph Panico
