For over 40 years, Steppingstone Waterside Theatre has been a major part of the Great Neck Park District summer scene. This summer features another amazing line-up of top-notch performers. The schedule includes all-time favorites such as Big Shot, Neil Berg's 100 Years of Broadway, Plaza Productions presents "Hairspray," Dave Sear hosting our Folk Festival and the annual Persian show (held at North Hempstead Beach Park). This summer includes an amazing national act, incredible tribute bands and talented new acts to balance the entertainers who are back by popular demand.

We will continue our tradition of Saturday and Sunday shows, with two Thursday concerts added, to rev up the audience for the weekend. Due to the huge success of our 100th Anniversary Carnival in August 2016, a similar family festival is being planned. Keep your eyes open for further details!
The Garden State Philharmonic is comprised of professional musicians from throughout New Jersey and the tri-state area. They come together under the baton of Conductor Anthony LaGruth, offering a program of classical, traditional and modern music selections in celebration of our country's independence.

You will surely be toe-tapping to this uplifting klezmer music, along with jazz/tango selections, when accomplished pianist Roger Davidson, bassist Pablo Aslan and their skilled musicians perform. Roger's acclaimed catalog ranges from chamber, symphonic and choral pieces to jazz, tango, Klezmer, children’s music and a wide span of Latin and Brazilian pieces.
Based on the John Waters film, "Hairspray," the story is set in 1962. The focus is on a plump, dance-loving teenager whose dream it is to dance on a popular local TV show. The songs include 1960's style dance music and "downtown" rhythm and blues.
North Shore Music Festival presents this comic opera by Gaetano Donizetti "The Elixir of Love." It features the well-known aria, Una Furtiva Lagrima. Founder, executive director and bass-baritone at North Shore Music Festival, Dan Klein and conductor Anthony LaGruth, unites the local worlds of music, art and natural beauty through their work.

Formed in 2003, Mambo Loco has become synonymous with the classic music of Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican origin. During the past several years, this band has been bringing the best of "Old School" Latin and Latin jazz music to the New York area.

Artemis Pyle played drums for Lynyrd Skynyrd's band, for which he was inducted into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Prepare to journey back to the '70's when they play hit after hit. You will be rocking out to top tens such as "Freebird" and "Sweet Home Alabama", as well as many other favorites.
Join us for our Family Fun Day featuring this popular '90's band as they perform a family-friendly show at 4 p.m. You will hear songs that all ages will enjoy. Beginning at 7 p.m., the band plays their top hits including "The Freshmen," "Photograph and "Colorful."
This tribute to Simon & Garfunkel is hosted by Great Neck's own legendary folk star, Dave Sear. Conductor Michael Flamhaft, returns with his 50-piece band to pay homage to great songs in American history and how they played a part in the 100 years of the Great Neck Park District. Commissioner Robert A. Lincoln, Jr. will be featured as a guest narrator.
In partnership with the Town of North Hempstead (Supervisor Judi Bosworth, Councilwoman Anna Kaplan and Commissioner Jill Weber), the annual Persian concert performance returns to North Hempstead Park with Sepideh. Sepideh believes in being a strong, sexy, proud, yet independent Persian woman, and it comes through in her music.
Labor Day Weekend kicks off with Eaglemania, who perfectly reproduces the music of the Eagles. With their stunning five-part harmony and and their uncanny ability to emulate the sound of the Eagles, you will hear countless hits that you know and love.
